Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on March 10 1949. She is an American investor as well as a speaker and consultant. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage that she founded. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran soon exited the company. Corcoran is one of ABC’s initial Shark Tank investors. Since her inception she has appeared on each seasons of Shark Tank. In February 2020 Corcoran had signed 53 deals, with the largest being a $350,000 deal that included 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the second child of 10 from a working class Irish Catholic family. [8] Her mother, Florence, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. became her father throughout Corcoran’s childhood. Her family frequently relied on free food deliveries from a local grocery store. Corcoran remembers her father as a man who occasionally consumed too much alcohol and did her mother a disservice and contempt, particularly when he'd been drinking. Corcoran struggled with her education and was later diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran was a student at a Catholic primary school within her neighborhood and began high school in St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. Corcoran was fluent in several courses her first year. She was transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a D.
